Political activist and Transform Zimbabwe leader Jacob Ngarivhume’s ambition to contest in this year’s presidential elections has been dealt a huge blow after Harare magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka imprisoned him for 48 months for inciting public violence.
This follows his conviction yesterday for the offence after organising the July 31, 2020 anti-government protests.
He will however serve an effective 36 months without the option of a fine after 12 months were conditionally suspended.
In February this year, he expressed his intentions to contest in the upcoming plebiscite. Nhau/Indaba
