Mutare Cops Tighten Checkpoints

Police and military personnel manning roadblocks and security checkpoints have tightened enforcement of lockdown regulations.

This follows the extension of the Level 4 strict national lockdown by an additional two weeks.

Tightened security has seen long winding queues on various checkpoints in and around Mutare city centre as police scrutinise travel exemption letters.

A survey by showed that there was tight monitoring of motorists and pedestrians at various security points around the city.

Attached is a picture taken by Nhau news crew at the Mutare Teachers College roadblock where a long queue of vehicles, stretching up to 2km from Dangamvura-Zimunya-Masvingo road to Masvingo-Mutare road.
