Sikhala Freed On Z$25k Bail

High Court judge Justice Tawanda Chitapi has granted MDC Alliance vice chairperson Job Sikhala Z$25 000 bail.

He was ordered to reside at his Chitungwiza home, to report once a week at St Mary’s Police Station and not to interfere with witnesses until the case is finalised.

He was being represented by Jeremiah Bamu, Advocate Harrison Nkomo and Paidamoyo Saurombe. Sikhala was incarcerated by Harare magistrate Ngoni Nduna on allegations of peddling falsehoods.

Sikhala has been in and out of Chikurubi Maximum Prison for the past six months but has vowed never to back down from speaking out against President Mnangagwa’s Government.

“The plot and the plan of the dictatorship is to break me down. I will never be broken down because the demand for a free and just society is a calling,” he said in a letter penned from prison. Nhau/Indaba
