Billiat, Katsande woes mount

Kaizer Chiefs’ woes in the DStv Premiership continued after a 2-1 defeat to SuperSport United on Tuesday.
Chiefs, home to Warriors talisman Khama Billiat and former captain Willard Katsande, have recorded only one win this campaign.
Interestingly, Billiat and company’s woes continued at the hands of his fellow countrymen.
United have, in their ranks, coach Kaitano Tembo and players Kuda Mahachi, Onismor Bhasera and Evans Rusike who were all part of the affair.
George Chigova is also with the team but is yet to make a breakthrough since rejoining the team.
Billiat started for Chiefs while Katsande was on the bench.
Billiat was widely rated among the ‘worst’ performing players on the pitch.
“Went completely missing in the game. The Zimbabwe international failed to provide Amakhosi the cutting edge which was needed from him,” reported Goal.
Going into Tuesday’s encounter, Chiefs needed a victory to boost their confidence but found themselves trailing just before the break after Bradley Grobbler grabbed the opener.
They were the team bossing the opening exchanges and the first chance of the match fell to Njabulo Blom after he was played in by Lebogang Manyama but his effort was timeously blocked by Onismor Bhasera.
Blom turned provider for Manyama next but the playmaker’s effort went inches wide of the upright.
And then Erick Mathoho failed to make more of a free header from a corner with Gavin Hunt cutting a visibly frustrated figure on the touchline.
United doubled their lead just after the restart when Sipho Mbule fired home from close range.
It went from bad to worse for Chiefs, who were reduced to 10 man in the 63rd minute when Philani Zulu received marching orders for a challenge on Jones Lungu.
Lebogang Manyama’s late penalty proved to be just a consolation for Amakhosi, whose winless run continues.
They were coming from a 2-2 draw against Black Leopards, a result that was also orchestrated by another Zimbabwean – Ovidy Karuru who scored a brace. Nhau/Indaba
