All 12 MDC Alliance councilors in Mashonaland Central province have refused to attend a meeting called for by MDC T (Thokozani Khupe) Organizing Secretary Tapiwa Mashakada in Harare tomorrow (Friday).
Mashakada through one George Rice a member of his organizing committee since Monday has been calling the councilors to the meeting.
“He said Mashakada would want to meet us but, with no clear agenda.
“I am not a member of his party so l am not going,” said Bindura Urban ward 8 Councillor Edward Nyarumbe.
Ward 9 Councillor Aniko Chikuvanyanga said he was not part of the Khupe regime and had no time to meet even her lieutenants.
The same sentiments were supported by his fellow councilors including Mayor Carlos Tokyo.

The councilors have also been warned of an impending exercise to recall them from their positions unless they defect to Khupe’s legion.
In a letter dated 18 August to Khupe and her top party cadres by her party’s Mashonaland Central executive, all the 12 councilors face recalling from their local government positions unless they denounce their MDC Alliance membership.
The other councilors besides the aforementioned are Brian Kembo, Mupingidza, Oliver Mukombwe, Norbert Dokotera, Fanuel Chigonera, Ian Makone, and Friday Chigwande.

The letter asked the national executive to recall the councilors with immediate effect though action has not been taken to date.
“We hope you will urgently execute this exercise as a matter of urgency within the earliest possible time.
“Further delaying will greatly disadvantage the party,” it reads.
Mayor Carlos Tokyo said Mashakada is “testing our faith to our leader Honorable Chamisa” whom he will never deceive.
He said he was ready to be recalled from his council seat for the sake of the MDC Alliance and its vision.
