Bindura Municipality Fires Chamber Secretary, Finance Director

By Naishe Kundayi
Bindura Municipality has fired its Chamber Secretary Mr Naison Machingauta and finance director Lovemore Warurama who were on suspension for the past two months.

They were being investigated for fraud and indiscipline.

Mayor Brian Kembo made the announcement yesterday afternoon soon after receiving the two’s charge sheet from the Ministry of Local Government’s Human Resources department that looked into the duo’s case.

Allegations are that in January 2017, the two teamed up and in alliance fought then mayor Mr Innocent Zvigumbu in the chamber, an act not expected from such senior managers.

“They also prejudiced council of nearly US$5 000 through theft. They paid wages to five non-existent workers thereby prejudicing council and ratepayers of their hard earned money,” he said.

Mr. Lovemore Warurama who was staying in a council house has since been ordered to vacate the house along Hay Road. Nhau/Indaba
