Bindura To Get Normal Electricity Three Times A Week

Richard Kawazi
As the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (Zesa) continues to struggle to meet the country’s demand for power, Bindura has released a load-shedding schedule that will see the town having normal electricity supply only three times a week.

The town is an important mining and agriculture hub not only in Mashonaland Central but in Zimbabwe. The massive load-shedding is set to derail agriculture targets, particularly crops that are currently under irrigation.

Further, mining companies will suffer as they seek alternative power elsewhere thus raising the cost of doing business. The local home industry and businesses have also been hit hard as they have had to use generators at a time diesel and petrol prices are skyrocketing.

The schedule will see the town without power on:

⏺️Tuesday
⏺️Thursday
⏺️Saturday
⏺️Sunday

Addressing residents in an online forum called Bindura Faults Updates, ZETDC Bindura said they have no control over load-shedding as the schedule is programmed by a team of engineers based at the National Control Center in Harare. Nhau/Indaba
