Carlos Green CD Bought For US$10K

Afro-fusion musician, Carlos Green, is at a loss for words after a Chinhoyi based businessman and minor bought his latest CD for US$10K.

The flamboyant crooner, who recently launched his fourth CD titled The Trophy, said Boss Max Murigi failed to attend the launch due to business commitments.

“I was humbled to note that I still have people who love my music as is the case with Chinhoyi based businessman Boss Murigi.

“He is into mining, buying and selling but he loves music as well.

“I was shocked when he called me and gave me US$10K for my CD,” he said.

Green, who gets along well with people, believes in networking.

“I am one person who has always maintained my standards and I know my position in life.

“I am one person who has been exposed to rich people because I also want to learn from them.

“Bossy Murigi is one of the rich guys in Chinhoyi who has always supported my hustle,” he said.

The Chitungwiza bred singer’s 13-track has been endorsed as a triumph by a number of people.

It was co-produced by Gibson Makumbe, Simplex and DJ Tamuka.

Some of the songs on the album include Melisa, Usandinyebere, Baba Carlo, Munamato and The Trophy.

It featured Killer T and Shantel Sithole.

His other albums are Smart journey (2015), Head on (2017) and Peace order (2020).

He started off as a rapper before he shifted to Afro-fusion after being advised to reinvent the wheel by Wellington Mpandare, his benefactor.

Ever since he took that advice, Green has been doing well and holding a series of well attended shows.

He has been sharing the stage with fellow artists of his generation comprising Andy Muridzo, Jah Prayzah and Peter Moyo.

He once begged Alick Macheso publicly to include him on his future shows as a supporting act.

Macheso’s management headed his call and he has been featuring during family shows doing free verses.

Besides music, Green is a well-known city hustler who is multi-tasking and innovative. H-Metro
