Zimbabweans are paying for Covid-19 tests that have already been paid for by the Global Fund, Nhau has learnt.
This was revealed by the chairperson of the Parliamentary Portifolio Committee on Health Dr Ruth Labode.
Dr Labode said the country received US$45 million for the purchase of Covid-19 test kits.
However, citizens are currently parting ways with at least US$45 to be tested for the virus.
“The Global Fund gave Zimbabwe US$45 million to buy Covid-19 test kits. Why are people still forced to pay US$60 for Covid-19 test kits? Its corruption,” said Dr Labode.
Corruption has been at the centre of most of the money donated to the country to contain the spread of Covid-19.
