The Zimbabwe Republic Police is hunting for Mutawatawa District Assistant Development Coordinator (formerly assistant district adminstrator) Tichaona Chiwiro who is alleged to have impregnated and married a 15 year old girl.

Though efforts to get a comment from the police were fruitless by the time of going to print, his wife Marvelous Mazhinji, a Bindura Magistrate’s court prosecutor said the accused even fled from her with the juvenile.

“I made a police report concerning his act, an act that cannot be expected from a senior civil servant worse more a district administrator, who is supposed to promote ubuntu,” she said.
She claimed that after being dumped together with her four year old daughter with albinism, the accused is in Matepatepa.
Mazhinji said after she got married last year to Chiwiro, they invited the juvenile to their homestead in Chiwaridzo Bindura, for holiday so that she could nurse their daughter whilst they were going to work. The juvenile is her cousin sister from her father’s side.

“In March just before government declared lockdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic, her parents called me saying they wanted the juvenile to come for holiday again.
“I denied saying l didn’t have money to send to them for bus fare since l was already suspecting something fishy was going on between my husband and the juvenile however, they insisted and gave her bus fare so that she could come.

“About last month, I then came across some messages the two were writing to each other in an exercise book whilst l was looking for papers to ignite fire since there was no electricity and I asked the juvenile what was going on and she told me that she was dating my husband and had sexual intercourse with him countless times, sometimes in my matrimonial bedroom and sometime in the kitchen whilst l was asleep in the bedroom in the evening,” she narrated.
