Divisions Rock MRP, As SG Resigns

Cracks have emerged in Matabeleland’s secessionist grouping, Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) leading to the resignation of its national secretary general, Indaba has learnt.

A letter seen by Indaba states that Ackim Mhlanga left the party over differences that have gone unaddressed in terms of transparency and accountability.

Mhlanga further states that party leadership has paid a deaf ear to his efforts for these values to be respected within the party thereby leading to his exit.

“I took over the reins of leadership as the Party’s National Secretary General in March 2018 and have been advocating for fairness, transparency and accountability within and outside the party.

“Noting that my call for the above has been largely misplaced and ill-timed as proven by the kind of reaction from party leadership, it is my decision to call it a day and stop expecting such gigantic growth steps from the party,” he said.

“This is my official communication to your esteemed office announcing my resignation as the National Secretary General of Mthwakazi Republic Party as well as party member.

It is with the heavy heart that i call time on my membership and service in the party and I wish you all well in your future endeavours,” Mhlanga said. Indaba
