Football Explosion In Banket

Dynamos Football Club and its legion of loyal fans are set to descend on the serene town of Banket for a friendly match against Division One football club, Banket United, this Saturday.

The match is slated for Kuwadzana Stadium.

With a line-up made up of many new faces, the glamour boys’ presence in Banket is likely to see a large crowd turning up to watch their potential new heroes in action.

DeMbare, which thumped Dulibadzimu FC by two goals to nil last weekend during another friendly match played in the border town of Beitbridge, is gearing up for the 2023 Premier Soccer League season.

Dubbed ‘Dzinza Bhora’, the match is being sponsored by Bike Delivery, a local company owned by businessman and arts promoter, Blessing Joseph, popularly known as BJ.

Tickets cost US$2 for the rest of the ground.

BJ told Nhau/Indaba that the game is part of his company’s community social responsibility programme.

“As a company, we thought it necessary to host the tournament as part of our company’s corporate social responsibility programme. We urge fans to turn out in their numbers to support their respective teams,” he said.

Bike Delivery is in the business of providing courier services for any willing client everywhere in Zimbabwe. They also offer food and drink deliveries as well as running personal errands for individuals or corporates.

Banket lies only 94km north-west of Harare along the Harare-Chinhoyi highway. The nearby Mazvikadei Resort, whose main attraction, the dam, is overflowing and spilling, is also set to benefit. Nhau/Indaba
