St Mary’s Police have confirmed the arrest of Zengeza West Legislator Job Sikhala’s son on charges of contravening section 47 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
Job Sikhala (Junior) is accused of allegedly murdering a man in their neighbourhood together with two others who have since been arrested while one more suspect is still on the run.
“Suspect is the biological son to MP Job Sikhala and he was arrested for a case of murder that happened last month.
“It is alleged that a pastor identified as Warren Mupereki together with his sister, Sikhala Jnr and another suspect on the run teamed up to assault a person they alleged had stolen a cellphone until he died.
“Sikhala Jnr was arrested at Chitungwiza Magistrates’ courts, having been on the run since he committed the offence,” said a source at the police station.
The pastor and his sister were arrested on the very day that the victim died.
They appeared before Chitungwiza Magistrates’ court and were initially remanded in custody pending bail application at the High Court.
Ironically, the pastor was represented by Sikhala (Senior) who is also a legal practitioner. Nhau/Indaba
