Zimbabwe international striker Tino Kadewere says his wish was to spend his birthday with the underprivileged had it not been for Covid-19 restrictions.
The Lyon player turned 25 today.
He said he had plans to visit at least two children’s homes but failed due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, he said he would fulfil his wish when the pandemic recedes.
“As I turn 25 today, my wish was to celebrate at Chinyaradzo and Hupenyu Hutsva Children’s Homes, but we are all aware of the times and what we are going through.
“However, as soon as the situation permits we are going to reach out and hand my brothers and sisters what is meant for them,” said Kadewere.
The birthday boy also revealed his appointment as the Zimbabwe tourism ambassador.
“(I) also have something for all of us, woke up to a letter of appointment, being honoured to be Zimbabwe tourism ambassador, thank you Zimbabwe, lets pray, stay safe,” he said.
In his birthday message, Kadewere urged his fans to be disciplined and hardworking in their respective endeavours.
“As Kadewere Foundation, we have great love to see you happy and well catered for all the time,” he said.
“From a personal perspective, I want to encourage you to be disciplined, hardworking and follow through your passion. We will support you in every manner possible.”
The 25-year-old promised to score more goals when action resumes in the French Ligue 1 tomorrow.
Lyon host Lens.
“I will try to score some goals in the next games so that I dedicate those goals to you guys. I love you, I will keep on mobilising resources for you guys. God bless you all abundantly and take care of yourself.” Nhau/Sport
