Loga axes Platinum players . . . Ropes in Mukamba

By Ray Munyoro

Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic has dropped FC Platinum players from the CHAN provisional squad to allow them to focus on their CAF games.
Platinum are representing the country in the CAF Champions League and are set to face Tanzania’s Simba in the first round of the competition in a week’s time.
The Zvishavane miners are currently in camp, the same time with the national team ahead of the CHAN finals to be hosted by Cameroon next January.
“I’m not considering any players from FC Platinum because I want Zimbabwe football to succeed so I want them to focus and concentrate on their games (CAF Champions League).
“We want them to do well for Zimbabwe because they’re representing the country. That’s why I dropped them,” said Loga.
Loga has, however, roped in Ngezi Platinum midfielder Denver Mukamba after impressing in Warriors’ friendly against Ngezi.
“We have spotted Denver (Mukamba) and I think he will join camp. I spoke to his coach and I think some players will also join camp,” he said.
On players’ assessment, he said there is still a lot of work to be done.
“We just want to observe the players; they’re trying very hard. They’re really pushing and we are still trying to see certain things and the friendly against Ngezi made us to see some things and see which kind of shape they are.
“We have lots of things we need to work on and we have lots of space for improvement. The friendly games are important and that’s the reason why we are going to play six friendly game.” Nhau/Indaba
