The burial of Mitchelle “Moana” Amuli is still shrouded in mystery as her maternal and paternal families remain at loggerheads, Nhau has learnt.
This has forced Doves, who are taking care of the funeral to be on indefinite standby as they await the final decision from the families.
Doves Group Public Relations and Communications manager Innocent Tshuma told Nhau that they would respect the family’s decisions before offering their services.
“At this point we cannot say what time or when the burial is but we will just wait for the family to map the way forward,” he said.
Tshuma also released a public statement concerning the burial which read:
“I know there is immense interest from the public at large on the programme for Moana. She was a loved personality by family, friends and the public at large.
“As Doves our experience since 1902 has taught us that in order to give a befitting and dignified send-off we must be guided by the family. We, therefore, ask for patience and space to be given to the family on the way forward regarding all arrangements.
“We will let you know once the family has finalised the programme.”
Moana died in a horrific car accident alongside business tycoon Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure, Malawian socialite Limumba Karim and Mozambican model Alichia Adams over a week ago.
This was after Ginimbi’s Rolls Royce they were travelling in had a head-on collision with a Honda Fit along Borrowdale road in Harare before skidding into a tree and bursting into flames. Nhau/Indaba
