November Vibes: Nhau/Indaba Entertainment Diary

It is Friday, signaling the beginning of another eventful weekend on the entertainment scene as the month of November begins. Already our energetic artists are in high spirits and primed to dish out the best of their talents to make the weekend worthwhile.

Here is what to expect:

Chillspot @Club Zeus

As is now tradition, Mbare’s best DJs, the Chillspot Family will be rocking Club Zeus formerly Club Connect this Sunday, and a full house is expected as revelers party to celebrate a new week. Lots of entertaining acts are lined up for fun lovers at this premium joint located at NetOne Plaza in Harare.

Bindura Arts Festival

All roads in Mashonaland Central lead to Bindura tonight where the Bindura Arts Festival kicks off at Bindura Country Club. A coterie of Zimbabwe’s most talented artists will be performing. Jah Prayzah, Suluman Chimbetu, rapper Holy Ten Freeman HKD, and Carlos Green headline the prestigious event. Roarman, Sam, Mbire stars, DJ Foxx, and Bellzmma will also be part of the entertainers lists. Admission: Standard $10, VIP $20, VVIP $50 till late.

ZRP Commissioner-General Funfair

The annual Zimbabwe Republic Police Funfair is this weekend at Mkushi Depot (formerly Morris) and revelers are promised a stellar cast of musicians who are more than ready to rumble.

The list consists of Baba Harare, Andy Muridzo, Peter Moyo, Baba naAmai Charamba, Suluman Chimbetu, Carol Mujokoro, Eriya Tembo, Morgan and Tendai Dembo, Chillspot Family, not forgetting the highly entertaining Police Band and many more. Erstwhile crowd-puller, Alick Macheso is not on this year’s list of performing artists. Apart from music, there will be a lot of activities worth the fun. Admission: Adults $5, Kids $1.

HKD Boss Album Launch

Dancehall sensation Freeman “HKD Boss” will launch his promising “Trophy” album at Alex Sports Club in Harare on Saturday night. The launch will be star-studded with the likes of Jah Prayzah, Killer T, amapiano sensation Shasha, Feli Nandi, Saintfloew, and Delroy Shewe. MCs Gudo, Fitzroy, and Tats will be leveling it out with DJs Etherton Beenie, Templeman, Merciless, Tecko, and Chamvari

Macheso In Gweru, Bulawayo

This weekend Baba Sharo will be out of Harare, taking his music to the Midlands and Bulawayo.. Tonight he will serenade his fans at VG Complex in Gweru with a surprise supporting act. Admission: $5.

Come, Saturday he will find himself in the City of Kings and Queens, Bulawayo. His multitude of fans are going to be treated to an “Elite Summer party” at the Palace Hotel. He will be supported by Masotha and Sungura Masters from 4pm. Admission: $5.

Busy Friday For Dino Mudondo

Tonight reggae-kwasa musician Dino Mudondo has a busty night with two live performances in the sunshine City of Harare.

From 7pm till 11pm he will be serenading fans with his vibes at The Usual Place (Jameson Hotel) with his Rastakwasa Band, a legendary episode not to miss. Admission $5.

Dhewa Celebrates New Album

Bar Rouge will be lit tonight as Peter Moyo throngs the joint to celebrate his new album “Mwana waMambo ” with a live performance from 7pm. Admission: $10.

Tomorrow he will be at Taranganda Night Club in Hatliff alongside Ndunge Yut for a sungura-dancehall mix. They will be supported by Sir Nato and Naka Sugar Express. From 8pm till late. Admission: Cover charge.

Black Umfolosi Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Black Umfolisi will ignite Bulawayo Theatre tonight with their acapella music and traditional dances in celebration of their 40th anniversary

Dino Mudondo, Mbeu & Proggie Clash Pamuzinda Highway Xscape will be rocking tonight as Dino Mudondo, Mbeu and sungura musician Progress Chipfumo share the stage in what will be a mouth watering encounter for fans.

This is one good Friday gig as reggae, afro pop and sungura genre are fused together to make an epic night from 6pm till you drop. Mudondo will join Proggie and Mbeu after a session at Jameson Hotel. Admission: $5.

Busy Weekend For Mannex

Reggae music icon Mannex Motsi has a fully booked weekend to showcase his reggae music talents.

Tonight he will be at Position Bar & Grill in Avondale from 7pm till late. On Saturday he takes his Zimreggaestra Band to Sherwood Golf Club in Mabelreign before shutting down the weekend curtain at Glass Bar & Grill in Norton.

Seh Calaz Birthday Bash

Party lovers are in for a treat Saturday night as a talented dancehall chanter hosts a birthday bash dubbed “Bhanditi Bhavhade KuGhetto” at the Mbare Netball complex. Several dancehall artists including Dadza D, Hwindi President, Silent Killer, Blot, Uncle Epatan, Jah Master, Kinnah, Van Choga, and Ndunge Yut among others will grace the gig.

DJs Godfather Templeman, Chillspot Family, Etherton Beenie, Tanaman, Fydale, Cymplex, and others will also bring the house down with fun. Admission: $5.

Killer T Entertains Catholic Fundraiser

Early Saturday morning, dancehall great Killert will be entertaining Catholics in Gweru with a fundraiser to power all diocesan mortuaries with solar.

The event will be hosted at Gweru Golf Club starting at 6am. General tickets will be selling at $5 while VIPs will pay $30.

Holy Ten @ Club Zone

Rapping sensation Holy Ten will this Sunday blast Club Zone in what will be called “Skylevol Balcony Xperience Summer Explosion” alongside Joey Evolve, King Her, and Ace Frvr

Feli Nandi Headlines Mapopoma Fest Prep

Lady of the moment, Feli Nandi will tonight perform at Harare’s Glamis Arena for the Mapopoma Festival launch alongside Dadza D, and Gwevedzi. DJs Lroy, Wanco, Lehwa, MC Tatendaand Nikki (StraFM) will be taking turns at the turntables from 5pm. Admission; General $15, VIP $25. Advance tickets will be $5 less.

‘Ngwere’ Rocks Midlands

Trending dancehall chanter Silent Killer will find himself at Club Excite tonight in Gweru, the City of Progress tonight. Tomorrow he heads to Kwekwe for another live performance when Zim dancehall clashes with Zim hip hop for a gog dubbed “Matrix Battles”.

He will be jamming at Solomons Lifestyle Cafe alongside Holy Ten and Bling 4 supported by DJs P-Nut, Dwayne, Sparrow, Palmer, Blaqculture, Dax, Sixnation, and Aktion Ngigie. Admission: $5, VIP $10.

Doek & Slay @First Capital Sports Club

It will be a Doek and Slay affair this Sunday as Baba Harare, Feli Nandi, and Nyasha David toast an unforgettable experience for fans in Mt Pleasant.

Talking Guitars

Revelers at Players Bar & Restaurant are assured of soothing music tonight as the Talking Guitars throng the joint with promises of hot vibes that resonate well with downing the wise waters from 5.30pm till late.

Kulez Bar Hosts Progress Chipfumo

Free-spirited Progress Chipfumo takes his Sounds of the Motherland Band downtown Harare for a gig at Kulez Bar tonight.

Jah Master, T Makwikwi & Buyaka Clash

It will be a dancehall affair tonight as young and talented chanters Jah Master, T Makwikwi, and Buyaka clash at Kwakutapira Super sand in waterfalls tonight. Their performance will be backed by MC Princo and DJs Lenso and Ndunge Inno from 8pm. Entry is $3 before they get on stage.
