Police have arrested a Chitungwiza man for raping a client he lured to his house under the pretext that he was a doctor.
Leonard Mwale (24) was arrested yesterday just after committing the offence and is in police custody.
The complaint in this case posted a message in a WhatsApp group seeking for medical help. A group member directed her to Mwale who gave her directions to his house for “treatment”.
Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said she was given a tablet and an injection which rendered her unconscious.
“She later gained consciousness and found the accused raping her, thereby raising alarm.”
“A report was made to the police leading to the arrest of the suspect and recovery of various medicines and injections which include promethazine, rabbies vaccine, diclotine, oxytocin, hydrocotisol, citimile, cetriaxim, promithemide, metopramide, gentermide, aminophylline, and cloridrato,” he said.
Nyathi further stated that Mwale performed the act while ten other women waited outside for his “services” despite having no medical qualifications. Nhau/lndaba
