Rusike Linked With Another Club

Zimbabwe international striker Evans Rusike has been linked with another club in the South African Premiership.

Rusike, out of favour at SuperSport United, has over the past weeks been reported to be on his way to re-joining his former club Maritzburg United.

Latest reports across the Limpopo are that the former Hwange striker has been offered to Amazulu, who are desperate to beef up their squad.

According to Soccer Laduma, Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu have been offered the attacker to beef up his squad before the transfer deadline.

“With the second transfer window of the 2020/21 season open until February 15, it’s now understood (Evans) Rusike has been offered to AmaZulu.

“He (Benni) might want to strengthen his team to help him consolidate a Top 4 finish as per his mandate from chairman Sandile Zungu – and Rusike has been presented as an option,” reported SL.

It has been reported Rusike could leave SuperSport United in search of a fresh start having not quite hit the heights expected when he joined the Tshwane outfit three years ago to replace Jeremy Brockie.

SuperSport, according to sources, are prepared to part ways with the Zimbabwe Warriors star, who is in the final six months of his contract.

Rusike made a surprise appearance at the weekend, having last featured for SuperSport on December 19 in a 3-1 victory over Baroka, but sidelined in the next six games after.

He made a 10-minute cameo against Swallows at the weekend, but with his former team Maritzburg also believed to be keen on his services, Rusike could still leave Matsatsantsa.

If he opts for Amazulu, he joins fellow Zimbabweans Butholezwe Ncube and Talent Chawapiwa. Nhau/Indaba
