Senior MDC Alliance member gets the boot

A Senior MDC Alliance member in Bulawayo is set to be axed for selling out to state security agents.

Sources in the party privy to the investigation of the party’s Bulawayo women assembly chair advised. Tendai Masocha is being accused of spying for state security agents and the inquiry was complete and she will be dismissed anytime soon.

“Investigations are complete and it doesn’t look good. She is good as gone and we await the national executive council to seal her fate, said the source who declined to be named.

“She is a sellout and she helped state security agents infiltrate party structures. She released vital and personal information of party members to state security agents. She also released party confidential information, added the source.

Masocha hogged the limelight in recent weeks after, Tawanda Muchehiwa, a Midlands State University student, who was allegedly kidnapped and tortured by state agents over the 31 July demonstrations, suggested that Masocha was the one who sold him out.

However, Masocha fought back and denied the serious allegations, but this did not stop the party from suspending her pending investigations.

Swithern Chirowodza, MDC Alliance Bulawayo spokesperson declined to comment referring the publication to his party senior.

Fadzai Mahere, MDC Alliance national spokesperson could not immediately comment as she was not picking up her phone.

Several MDC Alliance members in Bulawayo were kidnapped and tortured in recent weeks by suspected secret police agents.
