Swansea coach gutted by Rushesha injury

Zimbabwe senior national football team target, Tivonge Rushesha, has suffered a serious knee injury in training with his team, Swansea City.
Nhau Sport understands the 18-year-old defender will be sidelined for an indefinite period after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament.
“Unfortunately Tivonge has picked up a bad knee injury in training,” head coach Steve Cooper told the club’s website.
“It’s an ACL – unfortunately quite common but a serious injury. But it’s one that players can recover from and I’m sure he will.”
The right-back, who made his first-team debut against Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup last term, has been included in matchday squads this season.
“He’s a good young player who we like a lot and has been part of our first-team training all season. We’re gutted about that because he’s such a good lad. But we’ll make sure we look after him and I am sure he’ll look after himself.
“He’s got such a good attitude. I’m sure he’ll be one of the ones who recover even stronger,” said Cooper.
Rushesha has been targeted by Zimbabwe national team coaches to play for the Warriors despite having featured for Wales at Under-17 level.
The defender was born in Zimbabwe in 2002 but moved to Britain the following year. He has come through the Swansea’s academy. Nhau/Indaba
