Upcoming Afro-pop Artist To Release New Single

A 24-year-old Congolese Afro-pop singer who was bred in Zimbabwe is set to release a new single track next month, Nhau has learnt.

Currently based in the United States, Victoire Nondo known in contemporary Afro-pop music circles as Novi Keys is celebrated for his song ‘Tekenyedza’ which featured Ex Q and became one of the hit songs on YouTube last year.

Novi Keys told Nhau that he will be releasing the fresh track titled ‘Runako’ on July 9, a track he said features some surprise artists who will be revealed during the launch.

Focused on promoting African languages, the track comprises of Shona, Swahili and Spanish lyrics.

According to Novi Keys, the track is dedicated to all those who are in relationships, calling on them to appreciate all those who make them happy.

“I do have collaborations but it’s going to be a surprise to my fans.

“The message behind the song is appreciating the loved ones who bring smiles on our faces, be it a husband, wife, girlfriend or boyfriend,” he said.

The upcoming artist is aiming to release at least three singles this year but is yet to decide on an album.

“My main goal this year is to release at least three singles despite the lockdown that has been an obstacle to many artists including myself.”

Besides ‘Tekenyedza’, the talented young artist had collaborations with other popular artists.

He collaborated with “Zimdancehall Father” Shinsoman, on the track ‘Gushes’ as well as talented Urban Grooves artist Leonard Mapfumo on the song ‘Noli’.

Besides these, Novi Keys also has single tracks like ‘Muvanze’ and ‘Bye bye’ credited to his name. Nhau/Indaba.
