ZIM FOOTBALLERS’ MIXED FORTUNES

Zimbabwe’s legion of footballers based in foreign countries had a week of mixed fortunes at their different clubs.

In France, Tino Kadewere got the better of Marshal Munetsi in a Zimbabwean battle in the Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Kadewere’s Lyon beat Munetsi’s Stade de Reims 3-0 to close the gap at the top of the standings to two points.

The Warriors stars were in the starting lineups for the two teams. Kadewere was withdrawn in the 60th minute. The result meant Kadewere’s team has gone for nine games without tasting defeat.

In Belgium, Warriors captain Knowledge Musona created a goal as KAS Eupen beat Charleroi 3-1 in the Belgian Pro League to return to winning ways after three games.

Defender Teenage Hadebe continued to struggle for game time in the Turkish Super Lig as he was an unused substitute in Yeni Malatayaspor’s 2-2 draw at Gaziantep.

Scotland-based forward David Moyo came off the bench in the second half as Hamilton played out a 1-1 stalemate with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

Adam Chicksen was also an unused substitute in Nots County’s 3-0 win over Wealdstone in the English Conference League. Nhau/Indaba
