‘It Wasn’t Me: VP Mohadi Responds

Vice President Kembo Mohadi has denied allegations of sexual encounters with married women and junior subordinates in his office describing them as “well-choreographed to demean” him as a national leader and patriot.

Sections of the public had already started calling for his resignation citing that his conduct was not commensurate with his status as a Vice President.

Said Mohadi in a press statement: “Fellow Zimbabweans, following the recent social media hype about my alleged illicit relationship with two married women, I have decided to come open and respond to the allegations being peddled by my detractors.

“Despite growing impatient because of days of weird character assassination, I wish to categorically state that the allegations being levelled against me are not only false, but well-choreographed to demean, condescend and soil my image as a national leader and patriot.”

Mohadi said he was aware that his right to privacy had been infringed on in terms of section 57(d) of the Constitution, but he was a victim of “hacking and voice cloning”.

“Despite the noise in digital media ecologies, I wish to clearly state that I am innocent and a victim of political machinations being peddled through hacking and voice cloning.”

“…despite the density of the allegations… I salute the support from fellow citizens, colleagues and comrades who fully grasped the rigid complexities of concocted enemy attacks…I am categorically distancing myself from the imagined immoral unions.”

Mohadi advised his detractors that no form of machinations from their end would deter him from remaining a committed “leader, father, cadre and servant of this great nation”.

“The camaraderie and support given to me during this trying hour is appreciated. That these faceless netizens have blended very well in networked digital architecture to re-engineer the spaces for political demonisation, will not dampen my spirit as a tried and tested cadre,” the VP said.
