Embattled National Social Security Authority’s (NSSA) Investments Director, Brian Murewa is allegedly on the run amid fraud and corruption allegations, Nhau/Indaba has learnt.
This follows a financial probe on NSSA where millions were reportedly siphoned from the State-run pension fund. Consequently, Murewa has gone dark prompting corruption watchdog, the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) to issue a ‘whereabouts sought notification’ confirming the latest development.
A statement released by ZACC, Wednesday reads:
“The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission in its ongoing Financial Investigations at NSSA is interested to interview Mr Brian Murewa (NSSA Investments Manager) to assist in the investigations.
“Anyone with information regarding the present whereabouts of Mr Brian Murewa to assist in advising him to contact ZACC Investigations Department on 0719529483 0242 369602/5/8/14.”
His disappearance follows recent media reports that he had been suspended on allegations of corruption and fraud emanating from exposed scandalous acquisition of properties by the authority. Nhau/Indaba
